Cire Trudon, you've done it again

The perfect christmas gift - special edition 'Melchior' by Cire Trudon.

'Melchior' was one of the three wise men - the Persian scholar who brought gold to Bethlehem. Of course, Cire Trudon have appropriately adorned his candle with pure gold leaf.

Carried by the warm oriental suns, Melchior presents the tender scents of a precious adoration to the divine child. In a case adorned with golden leaves, Myrrh and Benzoin combine as the sign of a universal celebration.

Birthday Surprise

As Larissa was away with her beloved in Thailand for her birthday, we decided to have a surprise belated dinner.  We went to our favourite local Thai restaurant Bai Yok, and pretended it was the 7th January all over again.

I made this cake for L with a bird theme (Serin Cini theme in other words!). It turned out well, but wasnt as tall as I was hoping.  It was a two layered red velvet cake with cream cheese icing.

Credits to Simonetta for the table decorations- it looked beautiful. The pink Ladurée candles and the Dinosaur Designs jug were 'very Larissa!'

Congratulations on reaching this milestone Larissa.

The bottles are also hand blown by an Italian glassmaker in Vinci, Italy.

Alice's Casa

Considering we have all taken home SEVERAL products over the years, it's time we showed them off. First up- Alice's home. Some of the pieces are her mothers. Enjoy.
Above- the famous coral, which was grown on a farm in the Great Barrier Reef under precise Government approved world class management arrangements. The long white box are the Cire Trudon matches.

Two beautiful books- Alberto Pinto 'Table Settings', and 'Life and Work' by Marlene Birger.
{both absolute geniuses!}

A Christmas pressie from Sim & Kel- the FAB orange John Derian Plate.

The crown Kuhn Keramic mug, filled with Marc Jacobs pencils.

Can you smell that? Yummo- Miller et Bertaux 'a quiet morning' {curcuma, saffron, basmati rice, palm flower, orange blossom and Indian sandlewood}.
Annick Goutal 'petit cherie' perfume and body lotion- Larissa's favourite too. {pear, peach, musky rose, fresh cut grass & vanilla}
Maryse a Paris drawer fragrances. They make your clothes smell pretty.

Christian Lacroix notebook (which Alice can't write in yet as it is so beautiful) and a John Derian paperweight.

Hope you've enjoyed, there are more casa posts to come...

A Heavenly Home

Welcome to Larissa and John's beautiful home (SC owners). These vignettes were set up for a photoshoot for  House & Garden magazine early last year. The white vases/bowls are Astier de Villatte from France. The candles- Cire Trudon of course.

What an attractive garden. Larissa (& John) certainly have exquisite taste. They dedicate a lot of time to their garden and love entertaining it in. Some of our products are peeping through here- the cook books, the pewter jug and the Fink jug.

Those glorious hydrangeas- hand grown by the clever couple. Sometimes they make their way into the store- this summer has been a particularly good season for them!

Wouldn't you love to have a garden party here? Yes please. AND, might I add- there is a woodfire oven behind this table- yumo!

More pics of their home to come.

Little Red Riding Hood & Sinbad the Sailor

The Cire Trudon limited editions have arrived in store. They are absolutely magnificent. The red candle is 'Little Red Riding Hood'- and yes, it smells like how you would imagine the fairy tale to smell. She represents the forest floor: moss and lilies of the valley fragrances with notes of barks and berries...
Sinbad the sailor is an insular perfume of warm sea, lichens, white musk and ginger.
Each candle comes with a little book- and the fairy tales are told in both French & English.
Cire Trudon also have a fabulous blog which is updated regularly...here is the link.

Check out the irresistable packaging...

Come in and smell our new favourite candles.

The Rolls Royce of candles

One of our favourite products- Cire Trudon Candles- Depuis 1643- doesn't that say enough!? These candles are from the oldest wax maker in France. The candles are pure vegetable wax with cotton wicks. The fragrances range from lily of the valley to the scent of the wooden floor boards of Versailles.  You know the candles you light when you say a prayer in European churches? They are manufactured by Cire Trudon.  Click here to read more about the history of this amazing company. Once you burn one, gift shop candles don't seem to cut it anymore. Below is our limited edition Christmas Nazareth candle with top notes of ceylon cinnamon, sour orange, grapefruit and mandarin.

What we've told you is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of these candles- come in and we'll share more stories with you to excite your senses!
