Cire Trudon has made the Prolétaire candle, the "mascot" of Labour day.
A revolutionary candle which exhales the workers’ struggles,
brings hope and with the scent of lily of the valley, the promise of spring.
Workers persevered for many years in asking for the right to
decent and humane working hours.
Their struggle persisted during many bloody and violent protests but
the workers' voices refused to be silenced until their request was heard.
It was only in 1919, that the French Senate officially ratified an 8 hour day
and to celebrate the workers past and present struggles
Labour Day is declared officially a holiday and dedicated to the work force.
